- an Explanation . . . .
Alexander Lehr has always loved cars. His first car (when he was 17) was a 1950 Oldsmobile "98" Sedan.
It was big and strong - and needed lots of work. Alexander decided that he wanted something bolder.
So, he sold it and settled on a blue 1959 Plymouth hardtop. It had been used as an undercover police
car in Minnesota and was very fast. This was Alexander's Hollywood High School transportation car.
He was very proud of the car and of all the work that he had done on it. He always regretted the
fact that he eventually sold it. That probably explains why he now owns five 1959 Plymouths!
In recent times, Alexander has been collecting cars that appeal to his personal sense of style
and design. A few are classics; most are simply great fun and fascinating. One common element
in this specialized collection is that they all harken back to a simpler mechanical & cultural
time. A simpler time of living and driving. A simpler time when car manufacturers were truly
proud of their image and the products that they created. Cars were built to last. Back then
- as now - profits were important - but not at the expense of integrity and quality.
That's what inspires Alexander in the cars that he has collected so far. The quality of the
workmanship, the flair of their design and the aesthetic vision that helped to create these
charming chariots of yester-year.
So, look at the pictures and enjoy the views. These cars are proud of their heritage and look
forward to meeting you in person one day!
